How many times do RTE/Network 2 show Die Hard each year?
    Its on Wednesday (again).

Seems to me like every 4 or 5 months at least....

rte only really show it at christmas. I's UTV and now SKY one that are the real culprits.

Sky one have shown predator about three times in the past year???? WTF?

AFAIK it's cheaper to show it a second time (or maybe even free) if they do it within a certain amount of time since they first showed it (if anyone has better info, correct me)

I'd watch the first one and the last one, the second one more or less sucked in my opinion.

Its a sign of the times, TV companies bid for movies and they get a whole heap in a package deal (with every Terminator 2 you get a hundred John Candy flops) and once they've secured the rights the network will flog em to death. The public are in part to blame, how many average goggle-eyed people will watch quality inde or left-field movies over a hyped blockbuster or something starring an at least familiar face...?

strangely enough...network 2 is the only channel i remember showing terminator 2....I mean i never saw it on any of the sky channels...I thought it was like star wars that it wasnt shown on tv until the special editions were made...

Die Hard is an action film I'll watch again and again. I prefer it to T2 which coincidentally was on ITV, RTE and TV3(?) about 3 times in last year.

ITV always show the same movies over and over - Die Hard particularly. RTE aren't half as bad that way.

Ah man the best channel to watch Die Hard on is ITV, just for the goddam awful censorship dubbing they have. I mean "yippee-ki-ya kimosabai " has to be the all time classic dubbed in line (in a totally different accent of course.

Along with any Eddie Murphy movies

"Get the fish out of here"

(or Coming To America ITV-style - the "Good morning my neighbours" scene is the classic there)

    Ah, happy days indeed.

and lets not forget the way itv (and sometimes the bbc) chop the films in half to make way for the news.

And all widescreen filums should be shown in widescreen
format even if the black bars confuse the turnips out there....

Censorship on ITV is a complete joke alright. Basic Instinct once started with the scene the morning after the murder!

I know I started this thread, but I have to admit - I watched it (yet again) from start to finish! Still a fantastic movie.

Its actually aged pretty well (the only real sign of aging is that awful 80s dance crap that the chauffeur was listening to in the limo!!) :p

utv at its best is with robocop - "you mother blaster!".. as painful as watching family guy episodes on sky one.

there were some real good 80 films on this week. commando "let off some steam bennet" classic line, dragnet which is cool, that one with eddie murphy and dudley moore and die hard. all we need is uncle buck, fletch, some national lampoon, short circuit and ghostbusters to round it off completely.
the french connection is on on sunday. ive got to see that. not quite 80s though is it. why did i bring it up? damn its late i will finish this post tomo..................................
