How about a field in someone's profile that tells people the last time they were logged in? I know it has last post time, but plenty of people don't post that much, or at all. Maybe it could be disabled by the user if they like to keep things such as that private? :)

It's quite straightforward to add it but not that easy to make it user definable.

maybe if you grabbed the code from the PM bit, that has the details of when the user was last online.
