not sure if this topic was covered before...

just to keep things as a separate thread and not to add fire to the "God, Reality or Myth" thread. Do people that believe in God, Heaven etc believe that Hell also exists.

I'm asking this because some people i know believe that Hell was fabricated by religious orders in the past to encourage people to turn to God, most of them believe it doesn't exist.

But yet, how can people believe in Heaven, a place they have never seen, there is no proof of Heaven. If Heaven can exist why cant Hell exist also. "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction", can't remember who said that but if there is a heaven, why not a hell.

Personally i dont believe in Heaven/ Hell/ Religion.

just looking to see what other people think..

Heaven or Hell, do they exist ???

In my opinion no, but during a conversation with a satanist i had one time he believed we're all in hell now, that hell is on Earth:

What do we expect a hell to be like? i would imagine it would be a place of evil, misery, discord, and destruction; sound like any place you know/? ;)

YEah i believe in hell.....But i'm not sure about what it could be like. I mean the cartoon has a good point. God doesnt hate anyone so maybe hell is like where the rules are forgotten and you can be as much of a basterd as you like cause n hell your not hurting anyone...cause everyone else there likes that stuff too.

OF course it could also be the worst 10 minutes of your life over and over and over...like a mental asylum...

Heaven seems to be too nebulous a quality to understand.
Re: purgatory, see my cubicle farm.
Hell on the other seems to evoke fairly clear images, captured by the like of Milton, Dante or Borsch. Perhaps because of the three it is closest to the human condition.

My own view of Hell, mirrors that of BlitzKreig.

A good book on the subject would be Inferno by Niven and Pournelle, a scifi remake of Dante's Inferno.

If they exist, well cool. I'm not going to worry myself about it too much doubt don't see myself causing any genocides in the near future.

That's Newton's Third Law of Motion I think.

Not a believer in the heaven/hell as just the two places where everyone is going to end up thing myself, I think if there's anywhere to go after you pop your clogs it's probably going to be personal to you and your life.

It has been said that the greatest trick the devil has ever played was making us believe that there is no hell.

I personally feel that hell is here on earth and we must work our way through it, once we've found that key...or learned that lesson we were here to learn, we get shipped out and up, given wings and made guardian angels. Fly down, keep an eye on the unaware and make reports at the end of the day...hmmm, work never ends does it..lol
That's just me. I also feel that we have to keep re-living this life on earth if we dont learn what it is we are suppose to learn, hence past lives. I believe in God the almighty and think its the lack of religion/belief in our generation that makes the world keep downward spiraling........

As stated before, I feel everyone's heaven/hell is based according to thier personal lives.
