The shortlist has been announced. The 6 players who have been deemed to be the best in England.

    Van Nistelrooy,
    Henry,
    Hasslebaink,
    Pires,
    Keane,
    Beckham.

Being Irish, I think Keane should win this award every year ((even tho I'm a 'Pool fan)). In fact there should be a special award for him!! :P

Seriously tho....I think Bob Pires will get it.

How do the people vote ??

PFA Player of the Year 25 votes

    Pires
    0% 0 votes
    Keane
    40% 10 votes
    Henry
    32% 8 votes
    Van Nistelrooy
    4% 1 vote
    Hasslebaink
    24% 6 votes
    Beckham
    0% 0 votes

Amazing is'nt? The bias towards strikers I mean, where would any succesful team be without a solid defence and as such I vote
Sami Hyypia and Steffan Henchoz as the joint winners of my own PFA award!

    Mike.

Ah, nothing like a good bitch.

While you 'pool fans can moan all you want, this is the PFA award. This means the players decide who is on the shortlist, and who wins the award.

And they should know cause they play each other every week.

So if Sami Hypia was individually so outstanding, every player who played against him would be going, 'wow, he was good!' or at least 'Ouch, that hurt.'

Instead they have chosen who they think is the best, and to me that players opinion is the most prestigious award.
(Not like the sports writers, who have there 'glamour' players.)
So grow up, chill out and accept that even Liverpool players have been voting for Pires, Henry etc, like everyone else.

    X

Ruud Van Nistelrooy should get it IMO for breaking the the record for goals in consectutive games (8), top goalscorer in the championions league so far (9), maybe top goalscorer in the league with (21). All this after suffering a year out with injury and this been his first year in the premiership.

I totally agree that RVN should get it.

He has proved himself as one of the best strikers in Europe and all after being out for nearly a year.

Ah, me ar%e, Andy Cole used score hatfuls of goals for Man U. They're a great team and they provide opportunities for their strikers. Did Van Nistelrooy score against Liverpool? Did he even see where the goal was? Both Henry and Hasselbaink are superior to this Orange c%nt!

are superior to this Orange c%nt!

Jesus Christ! stfu up before you get WWM on your case....

Yes, we know tis the Players Award but can you honestly say that Henchoz n Hyppia haven't been the best defencive pairing this year??
Tis kinda a shame no defenders got a mention.

And seeing as how the players are voting, it would appear Pires is gonna walk it...

i think you will find that should just read 'he's so witty'.

    Hasselbaink

by the same token, i expect youve forgotten that hasselbaink is also an 'orange cúnt'.

i also dont see your point about not scoring against liverpool.
what has that got to do with anything?

but what would you know, your only an ignorant taige mick arent you.

    NeRb666 Jerzy Dudek should win.

Get out of it, granted dudek is an excellent keeper but by far the best keeper in the premiership and probley all of europe is our own shay given, and I'm not just saying it cause I'm irish

I thought this post was to establish who of the six nominated players would win, not who else should have been niminated. To my mind Robert Pires should win it with RVN as runner up and Steven Gerard getting the young player award. I think Pires has been a pleasure to watch this season, and I am a United fan.
