send an email to mobile#@esms.nu where mobile is the number you want to sms (eg: +353876419012@esms.nu). Only lets you send 3 msgs from the one email address though.

I have a pretty hassle free one up on my website: http://netsoc.kst.dit.ie/~rob
It uses ivenus's sms system which doesnt send any annoying ads with the message.

Use http://www.dol.ie and goto the WebSMS section, ok so you have to sign up using all your phone details, but you get 500 free SMS a month which is enough for anybody. If you want anonymity, dont. But if you couldnt care less, go for it. you have to be 086 to use it, and people reply to the message which goes directly to your phone, actually its the same as messaging from your phone almost smile.gif You can send to anyone also, which is nice.

    Slaan.

a lot of the irish services (the iol one for example) are just a pull of the quios service:
    http://iol.quios.com
    http://oceanfree.quios.com/
its hard coded to ireland (look in the html), AND only allows 10 msgs per IP address per day, but ok-ish.

I've been meaning to write somthing that will let me at the backend cgi on the site directly but havn't gotten to it yet (exams and that) I'll get to it this summer smile.gif

hmmm i generally dont trust any web based sms places to deliver messages properly.. I've tried a lot of them and some are up to a couple of hours queuing in systems before they reach the phone, ivenus particularly has slowed right down as a LOT of people are hackin into the cgi directly.
dol.ie and eircell.ie/sms have very fast delivery.

the esms system is almost instant delivery, but the 3 message per address rule makes it pretty impractical.

I wrote a php script to concatenate mobile # strings onto the @esms.nu address but they seemed to cop on to it pretty quickly and messages dont go through anymore; i think they must check the headers or somthing. I think there may be a way around this, i'll let you know when i find out smile.gif

never had many delays with ivenus, usually not more than 4mins.
