I have it running under FreeBSD and all it required was changing one line in a config file IIRC so it shouldnt be too hard in linux.

MiCr0 has it working with RH7.2 i think.

so if it works with that Toy OS it will more than likely work with any linux Distro.

Im sure he will reply to this thread at some stage or just ask him on irc.

    Regards,

    Paul

I already asked MiCr0, He has his cable on another PC running Windows, and his Linux box is connected to the cable via network card to other box.. so his is not connected directly to the linux box

What line was that exactly kev??
I am trying to set my NTL modem up for FreeBSD too.

Not even remotely a problem, remember that your connecting to a WAN rather than dialing up a remote server.

One thing you might want to look out for is ACPI, it seems to use the same IRQ as the DHCP response. If you do get problems, pass the parameter ACPI=off or PCI=noacpi to the kernel at boot.

    BenH

ok i tried putting the line you said into the rc.conf
but it didnt work. I remembered that dhclient was working before that anyway. could it be a routing problem or an ip forwarding problem?

    kev, what did you change??

you don't need to change anything, once the card is setup for DHCP you shouldn't have a problem connecting to NTL.
