Lookin' in the BIOS settings (as you do) and realised I can (didn't, but can) change the system frequency from 333Mhz all the way up to 500 or manual.
Will this give me any performance increase or is it just a very very bad idea concieved by a madman in ladies undies?

And yeah yeah I know 333Mhz is cr&p

I wouldn't touch that with a ten-foot clown pole. But then again I don't really know anything about overclocking. Which is why I wouldn't.

    333 ~= 5 * 66

you cant change that 5, but you can change the 66 to 75 or 100

well you more than likely cant change the 5, because intel started locking the multiplier around then. But its worth a try. You may be able to change the bus speed ( the 66) to 75 or 83, give it a try.

Could we have more info on your system?

    CPU make/model
what the cooling on the CPU and rest of the case is like?

things like that. If you do incress the MHz you will see a small speed up in your system (not much as you will only get about 50MHz ot of it)

    Good luck

Thanks for the replies, it's a PII 333Mhz,
Aopen AX6LC MB, Award BIOS (flashed), 128 RAM, Tower case (no extra cooling but I have a couple of hefty fans set aside).

Probably not a lot to tweak on this setup, well not worth tweaking anyway but I'm open to suggestions.........except bin it.....burn it.......etc.
