Ok... just read a review of Episode 2 at Aint It Cool... and Harry seems to like it. A lot.

But then again he would, being the uber movie geek and so excitable about anything geekish that he can't help but enjoy it... And yet it SOUNDS good. And I'm not a Star Wars fan... so i'm excited.

Just thought i'd share this with you all.

Gotta say, after the debacle that was episode 1, I was almost not going to bother with the rest of the trilogy. I was so dissappointed with ep 1, that I thought I must be missing something obvious, so I watched it 3 times to make sure I wasn't being too harsh... and it failed on each occasion.

Since then, the hype has started (yet again) for the next installment. Major differences this time around?

    1) I've seen reviews of the script.. and it *sounds* better (but then that wouldn't be tough since the first one was such a dog

    2) I've heard an interview with Lucas where he basically trashes the fans, citing them as 'people who will go to see the movie anyway, no matter what he does'.

    3) I've decided I'm not as interested in this one as the last, so I won't be there for opening night.

I will however see it out of curiosity at some stage. I'm still so pissed off at the first that it never even made it into my DVD collection.. and that's saying something - given the rate at which I collect DVDS and VHS tapes.

So - in summary, I'll try it, but I'm not holding my breath. It's a bit of a waiting game to see how it's received in May when it hits the screens.

Is Jar Jar in Ep2? I've heard conflicting reports.

If he is, I'll be giving it a miss.

Not if they manage to mangle and twist his pliable body to death in the first ten minutes. If they do, I still think you'll be selling tickets at the door.

I hope Jar Jar is in it.
Just so Obewan can "accidentally on purpose" slice him open with his light saber in the first 30 seconds and eventually kill the bugger off!

From what i've heard and seen it still seems very like a "fairytale" as oppossed to the more hard-core Sci-Fi adventure style of eps 4-6.

    Bring Back Mark Hamill :D

Jar Jar is in it alright, but he has a very small role. He is now a Senator for the Gungans.

Heard the soundtrack for the first time yesterday and it is one of John William's best.

    Can't wait.

    May the Force etc...

I read a review of it too, could have been fake though. The reviewer thought it was absolutely superb.

I think after the critisism ep1 got they will be keen to make ep2 a lot better, and given the storyline they've got to play with i think it has the potential to be very, very good.

    Hoping so anyway :)

I've heard it's very centred around the love story of Anakin and Amidala though - depending on how that's handled it could turn out be way too mushy and not actiony enough (actiony???)

Have you seen the new trailer for ep2? From what i've seen it's in this one that *senator* palpatine makes his clean sweep of the jedi. The love story does make an integral part of the story but prolly not the main central theme.

just back from seeing ali g in da house (just DONT go there....), but i saw the trailer for episode 2 and it pretty much gives the plot i think

whole thing seems to be very fairy tale as said above, leaning on aniken skywalker's adolescence?

should be good i think it will all tie in very well with the other episodes eventually...
