Euro Upturn & UK Membership

    This has probely been discused here laods of times
    but can any one see a incrase in value in the euro exchange rate? if the uk joined would that encourge this, would the Uk have to devalue the pound b4 membership. can anyone see in the near future the uk joining

    I think it will take them at least 3-5 years to join. While they have said they won't join at the current exchange rate, it is possible that either Sterling will fall or the Euro will rise. The current UK criteria (in particular in favour of the Financial Services industry) is likely to create a huge hurdle - think of all those unemployed currency brokers! ;) It will also affect the relative allocations of funds on various stock markets.
