    whats an audio hub?

id recommend you get yourself a decent a/v receiver, from the films board you seem to have loads of DVDs anyway.. so put them to good use and listen to them the way god intended :)

or you could get yourself a specialist digital->analog convertor... you obviously wont be able to connect speakers to it though.

Audio hub is a little box that transforms signals, eg, optical to analog, its like a little mixing desk, theres not that many of em around. Basically, ive seen a few speaker systems for the PS2 but they have all been crap, i want to know if i can get decent speakers for the ps2.

I am not sure if this is what you are looking for, but anyway. there is the cambride soundworks/ creative labs digital speaker setup which uses optical input. It delivers prologic sound and dolby digital, as it has an inbuilt decoder in the amp.

first of all you'd want to define what you mean by decent speakers.

and having some sort of "audio hub" won't allow you to hear ps2 games/dvds in DTS or Dolby 5.1. nor will it be able to understand those digital signals, and convert them to analog.

apart from the solution that Bullman has mentioned your left with getting an a/v receiver (so you can use proper (~>6ohm) speakers) or simply plugging the (standard analog) audio l/r from your ps2s cable into your hifi/amp whatever you have.
