On the subtopic of radio -- am I the only one who gets
persistently irritated by the announcer(s) who speak
nasally and pronounce roundabout as rewn-da-bait.
    Pseudo or what...?

Don't get me wrong I have respect for the AA and folks
like Conor Faughnan who are excellent both as PR
and as general watchdogs for the motorist.

The other AA radio thing that gets on my nerves is
the smug sounding creep who sounds like he's
just smoked 3 joints before he gives his smug
opinion on why us punters should join up.

oh, just to clarify - the smug one is the actor in their
promo advert not anyone real within AA (I am a
member so slagging them off would not be ethical :))!)

In fairness very few ppl on Irish radio can pronouce anything correctly. Vowel mangling ingrates.

Well at least you don't have to listen to the Monaghan guy on Northern Sound up here. Grrr... talk about irritating. (I only listen to this station for the local GAA results and you can see why).
