    If a program crashes

In Gnome: Right-Click on it's title on your pannel and click Kill App

In KDE: This was always a feature that I missed in KDE ...
In KDE, Ctrl-Alt-Esc brings up a skull-and-crossbones mouse pointer that you can use to kill apps. Very handy...

...except when you try and click on the crashed program's bar in the taskbar and you kill the entire taskbar itselfand don't kow how to get it back or even reboot properly...being a n00b to 8n*x GUIs isn't much fun :/ ....yet :)
