Which would you choose if you could only pick one?

TV3 - It is far better than network 2

TV3 has the Champions League, on both nights, a major plus point. But I'm not keen on their presentation of the footie, but its better than ITV's :p

I watch it for no other reason. So I watch UTV less :)

Oh, and Moved to Irish Televison ;)

Nothing in your original post said that it belonged in the Digital Satellite board.

Sorry man, it stays! There is a pointer redirecting it here.

Damo. (being a particularly fiendish mod tonight :D )

When I think about it, I watch practically nothing on UTV. SMTV Live as hangover TV on a Saturday morning, but that's about it.

At least TV3 has Buffy and Angel, and I watch it's news from time to time.

TV3 for the Champions League, female news presenters and the odd good film

Funny this. When I started the "UTV Blocked" thread in Feb, we had over 4 pages of postings in 24 hours to bring it back :p Now as it looks here we all want TV3...myself included!
Yes I like the odd movie on TV3, even though I have the Movie Package with Sky....
The News on TV3, is not bad. It remindes me of those regional news services, we Used to watch on the ITV regions, when we all had them.
Since TV3 is a "Must carry" on cable and MMDS services, should this thread not be in the Digital Satellite Forum??? I mean TV3 and UTV are on cable/MMDS, and neither are on Sky. TV3 will be on Sky Digital and maybe UTV. With the programme rights issues that have to be overcome between the broadcastersI assume this was what JimBob meant!!!

I think we all liked having the option of UTV, but even more so the option of all the other ITV channels too.

I've never been a huge fan of UTV's presentation, and I don't really like any of the UTV originated shows. But it was fun to see the other ITV channels and usually the alternative programming was better than what was on UTV.

it would have to be UTV
as much as I enjoy watching the extra games of Champions League, it has to be done with the volume turned down or
else the commentary would turn the milk sour in the auld cuppa

If the same game was on both channels I prefare listening to English commentators talking about "our boys in Europe" than
Irish commentators talking about "our boys in Europe"
    (a small gripe with me)

and as there are a limited no. of matches remaining till the final
there will be nothing to interest me on TV3 after this

and if the post was ment as the ITV when we had it on Sky
weve lost out on the (regional) division 1 games on Sundays
and the Scottish Cup (on Scottish TV) as well

if this thread was meant to be a "if you had a choice" type thing. it would still be TV3. UTV is terrible. give me HTV or Carlton/LWT before UTV anyday

The reason I want UTV is because of its drama content they have theses 1.5 hoour crime drama series that you can get stuck into for the night. Also TV3 can be got with an aerial where as we have to go the Chorus route to get UTV, and Channel 4, so at the moment I had to crawl back to Chorus to get UTV when they took it off BSKYB.The sooner we can have everything on the one receiver box the better. I have a bad feeling we may be waiting some time for CH 4, when I spoke to them some time ago they seemed to have little interest in ROI.

TV3 isn't bad - I often watch their football, but not being such a big sports fan anyway, their commentary doesn't bother me as much as it might others. I would never watch any oft their bought in stuff - there is enough of that crap on the satellite channels to keep me in despair.

I do look at their news, especially in the evening; Coronation St is a staple show, and the Breakfast show is at least a good clock to have on in the morning (presenters need to change, I fear). Agenda is a fine programme, and The Weakest Link is passable.

When I had UTV on Chorus and before that on NTL, I can't say I really watched it at all. I have no time for their dramas, crime series, The Bill etc, and I could never stand how they break movies in two for news etc.

If I had to choose, I'd go with TV3. However, (and this is the real point), my g/f seriously misses UTV (her family are UTV mad, they could go without every other channel, but don't touch the UTV), and this is the one factor that makes me want it back. UTV via other channels was sort of my trade-off for getting satellite and ditching Chorus, and now she feels cheated!

They are both pretty bad in my book but in fairness to TV3 at least they have the soccer because for those of us who do not like soccer we had to put up with it or TV3 before the soccer which was dreadful, their was never anything on, its a pity that apres match is not on any more I miss that show, cant wait for The world cup for that to return, it was the only reason that i watch Soccer on N2.

N2 is far better then TV3 when it comes to the imports from america, but TV3 are getting better at that, at least N2 dont show Emmerdale and Corronation Street.

I am thing of setting up a club to get rid of Juilian Simmons from UTV he is terrible as are most of the local Programmes.

There are too many soap operas on TV3 it should just be called Soap TV "If your into soap your into Soap TV"

Note TV3 robbed that slogan from N2.

You know "for people who are n2 TV"
