just wondering anyone know where to buy a nice case in ireland . full tower as mutch power as possable that costs very little and looks da bomb

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,842 ✭✭✭phaxx

elexes: peats stock a handful of nice looking cases, although expensive.

    http://www.peats.ie/cgi-bin/shop/db.cgi?q=cases&search=Search

If you want something that "looks da bomb" without costing much, you're going to have to buy a cheap case and mod it.

I'm looking at getting either a CoolerMaster 200 or 201 case before the end of the summer.
I should have some pics very soon after i get it.
The 201 has a fabulous build but i haven't had the chance to see a 200.
So if anyone has either of these cases or knows someone who has one please get them to post aboout it.

I was looking at the website and the case prices are fearocious.

one case was the same ammount as a PS2.[ €330 ]

would it be anycheaper to buy from a UK site?

There are some great priced cases on the overclockers.co.uk site. I've ordered off them a few times and everything arrives within a few days. No problems at all.

Ckeck out the Juno P6 Full Tower cases at the bottom of this page.

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_ATX_Cases_35.html

Here's the description for lazy people :

Superb specification full tower case with 6 x 5.25" and 2 x 3.5" bays concealed behind its flush fitting door. The Juno P6 is twin PSU cabable with removeable 2nd PSU blanking plate and has a convenient swing-out motherboard tray. Cooling potential is superb with no less than 5 x 80mm case fan apertures - 2 front (1 x 80mm fan supplied) and 3 rear.
    Dimensions - 210mm (W) x 475mm (D) x 640mm (H).

It's £71.91 stg including VAT but not delivery. There are a few cheaper ones too. The bottom of the page has some good bargins.

So to answer your question Pugwash...finally...yes it could be worth buying from the UK.

Yeah, the full tower Juno there is pretty.

pretty basic case there ppc, maybe try a paint job?

Peats have brill cases, so so swank. I think Maplins have a few, though they're mostly cheap and nasty (they do have a lovely Lian Li though, drool).

...sorry about the somewhat off-topic post, but I'm starting to think that:

Boy, yellum, you're being kept busy there! Perhaps a less subtle hint might be in order?

On a more topic-related note, Juno? "Pretty"? I'm sorry, I just don't see it... :D

Ah yes, I should have said, I redrew it myself - the only copy I had was very small. Anyhow - can you give me any more information on that symbol? I've been trying to find out more about it for years...

    t

Its in the "Read this First" sticky at the top of the forum. I'll allow one large and annoying sig in a thread and thats it.

PPCs initial sig was huge and my finger was sore from scrolling through a thread, now its turned into a distracting sig, cos of the white against black animation.

I think this is being less subtle now anyway isn't it ? :D I've got Phaxx now to look after editing peoples posts and locking threads, ain't that right phaxx ? :p

    *waves*
    Yup.

Boston - damn, yes it would look brilliant laser cut into a case, unfortunately I have no idea where one gets that done, or how much it is.

try a colleage it department, know anybody going to a IT

Erm, am I the only one that sees this, or is it just that no-one is opening their mouths?

That design can't be done without some sort of backing plate, as the design calls for complete "loops" of metal to be cut out in a number of places. You'd have to do the cutting from the inside out, so that the metal would hold itself in place while cutting the loops, and then re-assemble the bits that would fall out on a piece of perspex or the like and glue/bolt that on the back of the case side with the bits that wouldn't fall out...

Stop making sense , its sunny out for gawds sake !

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,163 ✭✭✭✭Boston

with some minor design changes it would be relatively easy to lazor cut

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,842 ✭✭✭phaxx

Changing the design and using perspex for a backing plate thingy isn't a problem, finding somewhere to actually get it cut is. Since I redrew the artwork in Freehand, I have a nice set of beizer curves that I can resize. :)

Do you know of anywhere abroad that will do that sort of thing? Will probably be far too expensive, though, just making one.

i think overclockingstore.co.uk do custom jobs.
