ADSL seems to be beyond the horizon and cable even further so i'm damn glad my ISDN line was installed this morning.

Any recommendations on which isp is best for ISDN? Esp with regard to 128k access etc..

I like Oceanfree, I really like it. Its got good pings to local and uk servers, it has stac compression(good for lots of things esp. pings). It connects first time unlike the nasty habit that eircom have of making me dial twice each time I want to connect and it never disconnects me. I like it alot.
    Did I mention I like oceanfree? biggrin.gif

Oh forgot to mention that they offer 128k dialups too. Cost 2x the call but sometimes you need the 16kps download rate...

I use oceanfree as well - they're the best of a bad bunch, allthough i can never shake the feeling that they're just connecting me to some 56k line at the far end...

hmmm, dont know why you would think that - for me ocean are in a league of their own (albeit small) when it comes to connects to uk & US servers, both for games & general surfing.

For example, I ping 50-60 to Barrysworld or Holt and around 150-170 to US servers. With any of the others this is usually 80-90 and 250-270. For downloads I even get solid 8k/16k speeds from Fileplanet!!!!

For me this sets ocean free apart.

Oceanfree, with Eircom as backup, but only cos the dial-up is free for me.
