XP network connections gone

i booted up from hibernation as usual this morning and all my internet conenctions were gone - i got to network conenctions in control panel and its empty - when i refresh it i get this anyone got any idea where all my shít is gone ?!?! :confused:

Go to the control panel -> Administrative tools -> services. If the "Network Connections" service is stopped, start it again.

gah no joy

its already runing, i stoped it and restarted - still the same error

rebooted a few times and messed around with a few more options
