A six- foot- three man tried to rob the same bank in Arlington, Virginia, twice in a four hour period. On both occasions he put the money in a bag, along with an exploding dye pack that coats the money in coloured dust. Both times the dye exploded just outside the bank, scaring the robber and both times he left empty handed.

In Bratislava police picked up a burglar who had tripped four different alarms and woken up each and every single tenant in a city apartment block while he climbed out of a fifth floor window with a suit of armour lashed to his back. On questioning the man, police found him to be blind in one eye, with only partial vision in the other one. He also had a gammy leg and only one arm. He was also as deaf as a post making him unable to sense the racket he'd whipped up during the course of his burglary. He has been released into the care of an old persons home, his age being given as around 70.

They launched a single trial balloon to see where it would come down , but were distraught when it landed near a police station.
