Seriously, there are no irish servers for this and theres still a lot of interest in the game. The main problem being that we have nowhere to play apart from BW pubs

I was half tempted to get the old Joystick out and vote for starlancer ,own you up with 2 years worth Of Freespace2 skills from PXO , but Starlancer isnt great all and all online, a little bland and confined *the arena boundaries were far too confined* besides I have to fall back into rank and say Tribes 1 ... plz

Althought I'd REALLY like to see OpFlash being played online...it's just not possible to play over 56k. Tribes (1) on the other hand, is VERY playable on a 56k.

the q3 server we have at the moment is no good because it can't handle more than 6 or 7 players, so we can't have clan games or 4v4s. Irish players have to play all our games on laggy UK servers (and there are very few suitable UK servers).

i just explained above how much need there is for a q3 server in ireland.
Currently, we have no playable server. There are several active Irish q3 clans, competing in BW leagues, an Irish Q3 CTF team and there will soon be an Irish TDM team, and there are loads of players who just play for fun, pickups, ffas, etc, and no reliable server.

Q3 is very unfriendly to ISDN, and the servers in UK exacerbate the dodgy netcode flooding our connections, giving us pings of 160 in fights. This wouldn't happen on an Irish server.

Theres no rigging going on, its just that all the q3 players (who have been suffering unplayable lag on gay servers) enthusiastically cast their votes. anyway, tribes = pants clearly.

I think we might try a tribes1 server as well.
I'll give it a shot if the server has any problems it'll have to go, but I supsect it'll be ok.

So if someone would like to find me links to the patches etc I'll set it up this evening. remember linux is what I'm looking for.
