the jit compiler has really messed it up for playing games. i use r0.8.14(the last one before jit was added) for my retro amiga gaming and boy do i do a lot of that.

Hi everyone. It seems you guys know what your talking about when it comes to Amiga emulators so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but .... when I downloaded WINUAE it started giving me grief about not having kickstart roms? I'm not sure what this is but I did have an original Amiga in the early 90's so I thought it might be on the workbench disks perhaps?

Anyway information would be gratefully appreciatied.

The Kickstart Rom chip is part of the AmigaOS operating system. It is the basically like the BIOS chip in the PC. With WinUAE it can use kickstart from any of the amiga's A500 A600 A1200 etc.. so that means u'll need to download the rom image for these machines and select it through WinUAE
You'll find it if you do a search in google try typin in kickstart1.3 to get you started;)

    r0.8.14 -

You wouldn't happen to have a copy of that lying around?

Pigman - PM with some sort of proof (phot, story, details of hardawre/info/flavour jam you spread on toast etc.) that you've owned an amiga and I'll email the roms to you.

If he can't manage to find the roms usin google he doen't deserve to be playin the likes of sensi and hired guns;)

No, not really, I'd just like to have more then one version jsut in case.

Anyone know where to get WinUAE config files for games?

Hmm..The site above has previous versions for download but i really don't konw why u'd go back;)
Anyone know where to get WinUAE config files for games?
As far as cfg goes the defaults in the emulator are about as good as it gets... unless you want to emulate a particular amiga. you can find the correct specs for each machine here
You'll of course then have to save the cfg's ie A500 etc
and also depends if thats what you mean by "config files"

You shouldn't have a problem hmmm...
Need a bit more info first
    Any error messages?
Whats your Games and I/O settings?
Your using the latest version right?
As long as Windows recognises the controller, then it should work. I've used a USB Wingman joypad with both WinUAE and WinFellow.

No error messages just dont work.
I have set it to PC joystick on amiga port 1 and PC mouse on amiga port 0.
and tried other way round .
    I have latest version.

Can't see why it doesn't work. I had a search around and didn't turn up any results.
Maybe give WinFellow a try and see if that workswith your joypad.
Like a said if windows picks your pad up WinUAE should detect it also??????
Maybe someone else on this forum has had a similar problem
    ANYONE?
