    Howaya lads
Whats the difference between a gf2 and a gf2 mx, apart from 200quid?
I seem to remember reading a review of the creative gf2mx saying that the performance was pretty good and not really that far off the normal gf2.
Im assuming they are both better than a tnt2 card?
    thanks

They are both better than a TNT2, however, if you're in the market for a gfx card, the GeForce 3 has been relased, so give it a month or so and proces of GeForce 2's should fall considerably.

    All the best,

The difference between an MX and a GF2 is very pronounced indeed - the GF2MX actually underperforms an original GeForce 1 DDR...

Right now, the sensible options are:

GeForce 2 MX or Radeon now, GeForce 3 in 6 months time...

Alternatively, Geforce 2 Ultra or Radeon 64 DDR now, and Geforce 3.5 in a years time.

I'd go for the latter personally.

Herm, well how much you reckon they will fall?
I have no probs paying 150 for the mx 64mb version, but unless the gf2 falls below 200 i dont think id go for it. Is the performance difference huge?

I reckon ill go for a gf2mx, now just have to find one smile.gif

    Hey,
How do i know if i have an agp port on my mother board. I was told i need it to put a geforcemx onto it. I got a crappy packardbell 300mhz 48mbram, my family bought it about 2-3yrs ago.
Mmmmmmmmm any tips on buying ram?
What type suit it etc? The different types mess with my head. Want to get about 128mb for around £100.

    Cheers,
    Gideon.

If that is the fastest machine you have, you shouldn't bother thinking about getting a new gfx card unless you are upgrading your memory and processor with it. You won't see much of a benefit from a new gfx card with that setup. I have a p2 333 and a GF1 and it still runs everything slow as hell.
