Well, these are the new Nike strips, from the new contract which starts in the summer, so 3 strips have to be launched. Umbro used to launch them every 12 months, but each strip was always retained for 2 full years* The away kit launch never collided with a home strip launch.

Now every Umbro jersey will look outdated, like the Adidas ones in 1992. Money grabbin' fuppers. And I too am a United fan.
(and will probably buy one, as I have bought home jersey down the years)

    Damien.

*Except for the famous grey strip. Remember Southampton in '95 or '96! Best excuse of all time, Alex!

i think da red one is nice but still theres too many United jerseys on da market at da mo!!! Sure i have 5 jerseys for tis season!!!

This is one of the reasons I gave up buying Arsenal Jerseys. Well that plus the fact they always lost when I wore the Jersey !!!!

I think at this stage Utd are taking the p!ss. How many Jerseys have they fired out in the last 2 years?

    Gandalf.

It just goes to show, in comparison to European teams (which tend to have some pride in their colours), Premiership teams have absolutely NO respect for their fans.
With MU changing their strips the most it just goes to show that that they have the least respect for their fans.

    Its all about the 'green'

    DISGRACE

Well in their defence their contract ran out with Umbro.
Also I think they don't get any more profit with the jerseys, doesn't the 300mil cover that?

    Defending Man Utd *shiver*

United must be the worst team in the league for new kits. I tend to stick to Celtic jerseys, cos even though they also change, your guaranteed two seasons wear out of them (and they all look the same!). Proper Order!!!
    :D

Yeah I agree that Utd change there jerseys too often but look at these new jerseys there ****in lovely.

I remember used to come out with a new one every year but then they were supposed to have this contract or something that they would only bring out a new home jersey ever 2 years. I know they started bring out all other kinds of jerseys all of ver the place like all fo the away jerseys and the champions league jersey! ohwell. I used to buy the home jerseys all the time but i have bought the last 2 home jerseys they've put out.

    /me shakes his head...

I know that was a joke but United don't change their kits any more often than any other club. For instance... Liverpool this year have three kits. Home, away and Champions League. United done this in 1999 and got stick for it. Nothing was said about liverpool.

United have 3 different colours this season. Only two kits though as the away one is reversible. They probably had to put up with the press already this season over kits. Everyone knows its just silly and they just wanna sell papers by mentioning United in it every week and just filling in spaces where there is no news to report.

Middlesborough change their kits every season and nothing is said about them either. United change their kits every TWO seasons.

I think they should change the strip every season. I have 4 United strips. A home strip I bought the last season Cantona was playing. An away kit from the first double-double. A Champions League kit from the first time there was a Champions League kit and a home kit from the start of the Vodafone sponsorship. Every one means something special to me, every one has a story behind it and every one brings back great memories.

No one says you have to but the fupping thing! ;) I don't give a toss about parents whinging about their kids wanting it. Tell them to fupp off and get a j-o-b! :)

The bottom line is - I'm a Man United supporter. Me cheering from my armchair isn't going to pay Keano's wages - but the profit they make from the shirt I'm wearing might help.

Football jersey's are a ****ing rip-off and the material is always ****e quality and they've got ads on them, you're better of buying an official t-shirt

Actually I find that my Ireland shirt is made of high quality stuff and is very warm and comfortable. I understand most footy shirts are made from the same materials.

What strikes me as odd is...

MU have a strategic alliance for commericial activites and sponsorship with the New York Yankees who have a huge sponsoship deal with Adidas,
Wonder how thats goin to work out:eek:

BTW I agree with Bard, footie jerseys are usually very well made- especially the Nike ones- I have the USA navy version from 98 and its still in great nick :)

yup they are. I still have my Green an yellow man u jersey. and its in perfect nick and also my other one with old trafford on it and the blue and white stripy one. all still in really good nick. I don't think they come out too often and anyway you don't have to buy the new like!

Lemme guess, you are Meath or a Kerry man, who doubles up the yellow and green strip for GAA matches! :D

You must have got a knock-off. I've always found official shirts (Ireland and United) are top quality. I've was never able to find that orange Ireland away jersey though :( They've gone back to white now :(

They are a rip off though. I remember the good old days when you could get them for £30, now they are what the equivalent to £55 - £60

Well I heard on the radio that they were supposed to be going to put out a pink strip cuz their other strip clashes with Cameroon. They had the head line "Ireland players to look pretty in pink". I hope thats not true!
