We all have known for some time that the brilliant overnight service of Radio 5 Live has been on relay on radio Cyrmu from midnight until 6am.

Now the bad news........ Radio Cyrmu now comes back on air at 1.30am, with a "How to speak Welsh" programme. :p

Looks like I will have to go back to the bad reception on MW.

for some reason i thought i was going to be reading "5 Live blocked to ROI listeners via Radio Cymru". phew. 5 Live is still there overnight via Other Channels :) . BBC Radio Scotland relay it from midnight to 6am. happy listening. the learn to speak Welsh programme might come in handy for someone to learn Welsh for analogue S4C

You usually find it's their education programmes at that time, I believe for only half an hour. There are some English language ones about Wales too. They seem to peak their education transmissions during the summer term around May for some reason.
You could maybe learn Welsh for S4C digital if in the UK. Does anyone know how much it costs to have S4C added to a UK channel subscription - there's a number comes up to phone but noone I've spoken to seems to know.

AFAIK, S4C is free to residents of the UK. You have to give them a call, and they will ask you your UK postcode and digibox details.
MosseyMonk has discussed this before on this forum. I could not find his earlier posts on this subject. Perhaps Mossey or someone else will be happy to post the details.

S4C is free for all UK viewers with a Sky Digibox. all you have to do is ring the number on screen, give your postcode and card number and you have S4C Digidol on channel 184 :)
