    viera/keane

    the latter more so.

they can do it all: go forward, defend, inspire, perfect the two-footed lunge and of course manage to get away with it ;)

    Keith Wood.

Quinns Havn't won a match this year without him. He was injured for a while there and now that he was back on Saturday they win. He is just as much a lucky charm to them as he is to Ireland.

my vote for best player goes to Robert Pires. he is playing out of his skin this season. van Nistellroy (spelling?) is the best striker and is 2nd on my overall list

Pires gets my vote. He is outstanding this season!

TV-aholic, I'm sick of strikers getting all the limelight. And if all that catches your eye is strikers how come the highest scoring striker in England, (not for the first time) doesnt rate a mention in youre list? Of course i'm talking about Hasselbank. (And i'm not a chelsea fan either!)

I would give it to Pires. as a united fan I was happy when Arsneal bought him cause I though he was a very poor replacement to Marc Overmars. I was wrong. Pires has been outstanding this season, and it pains me to say it but is part of the reason Arsenal are such a great team to watch this season.

... and isnt it funny how Pires never looks like he is moving very quickly? That funny stride, stumpy legs, arse sticking out... but I hate him cos he's a sly, snivelling frog...
Roy Keane is the greatest. He's also the maddest.

well as a man utd fan its only right to say Keane or van nistelrooy but as a soccer fan i have to say Henry!!! he scares the s*%t out of me when he plays against United more than any other player

The great thing about Henry is that you know when he is ono on one with the keeper he is going to side foot it around to the keepers left. He does it every time!! You'd think that the keepers would get wise to this and just dive left but thats the great thing about Henry. He knows what he's gonna do, the fans do, the keeper does also BUT HE STILL STICKS IT HOME!!

btw /me is a Villa supporter so I'm not being biased.

Pires gets my vote, not just because he plays for the best team in the country, but because he seems to add another dimension to his game every time he plays. Overmars was simple, he was going to turn you, or just knock it past you and beat you with pace. Pires seems to have so much time on the ball, and always seems to have a variety of options open to them, and he never seems to take the same one twice. Henry has also been in blinding form of late, though his form has wavered a bit this season compared to last.

If I were to pick a Man Utd player to put on my list, it wouldn't be van Nistelrooy or Keane, it'd be David Beckham. He seems to be at the heart of every creative move on their team, and recently seems to be captaining Man U in all but name. Other candidates- I think Jerzy Dudek's in with a shout- he and Hyppia have been the backbone of a defence that has earned the respect (and the curses) of most managers in the Premiership.

well if your talking about players who can add an extra dimension to their game and add that extra something to their team then look no further than Teddy Sheringham!

yeah. hes really good for standing around trying to catch his breath. old fu<k should have retired years ago. if england bring him to the world cup vacell (the villa guy) should refuse to play for england ever again.
best player has to be hyypia.

Arent we going to be bringing Quinn and Connolly? Sheringham is a better footballer now than either of these two ever were.

As for Hyypia, if any scouser deserved to win footballer of the year it would be Dudek. Outstanding keeper and brilliant purchase by Houllier.

No, not a Man U fan.
But, yes, Sherlock I am from Kilkenny.
But, wait... no, don't say you're from Tipperary? Hope you enjoyed your lesson last Sunday!
