Is there any way we can get Wally banned from the boards?
Or a simple way of finding his real name?

To start with i think anyone who (like me) is sick of his muppetry post here. We'll see how many ppl *actually* think Monty is a gimp. IMO, its just one loudmouth.

As Monty is the admin, all he has to do is click the "IP Logged" link and it tells him the guys information.

That, and just delete any Wally posts (don't lock off) and wally will go away.

I think that the likes of Wally and Canabiss shud be banned. Course the problem is that all they have to do is change their nicks and their back again..so wots the point..

But m8 this does put all the work on the admins shoulders.....

Also then the rite to free speech is infringed upon...admins having too much power etc.

Well lads....it seems to me that this Wally chap is doing no real harm......he's just having a laugh. No disrespect to u Monty (U rule) but leave the guy alone.....THIS IS AFTER HOURS!!!!!! Where else is he going to spam....I mean......u complain about spamming when most of our time is taken up with bad jokes and extremely long (and **** posts) about chat up lines. GIVE THE GUY A BREAK.......DON'T STOP HIM FROM POSTING.

Freedom of speech, not freedom of medium. If someone wants to call someone else a ****er, IGN dont have to let them post here.

I get muppets on the RP board from time to time. I just zap thier posts. No feeding them, just remove them, and they move onto the Quake board.

okay - I have to jump in.
In my opinion - people have the right to post here - as long as their posts are in line with the rules of the boards. Those rules are enforced quite rightly by the moderators, much as in real life rules are enforced by the legal representatives of the people. (ie gardai). Spamming the boards is a debatable issue. I don't think that the last few posts by wally have been spam, they've merely been insults, which certainly should have no place on these boards.
So - delete them I say. As for deleting people who post insults like these, it's up to Cloud and the moderators to deal with them. I wouldn't see a problem with them deleting people's profiles.

Well what Wally was putting up was pretty minor compared to what PeeWee and certain other cretins have posted in Quake and so on. The guy is obviously just trying to wind Monty up, he knows Monty is the moderator and can ban/delete etc.

However, advocate of free speech and all as I am, one point that I didnt see mentioned thus far is the this Board is a private site on a private server. If Cloud or any other moderator wants to ban or delete people they can, and there's fu<k all anyone can do about it. It's a service provided to you gratis, if anyone abuses it they can hardly start whinging when it's taken away from them.

I dont like having to close down topics or delete them for that matter, I'm genraly pretty easy going. Any1 who knows me, will tell you this.

I dont mind spamming, its blatent insults or slagging to anyone I cant abide by, Live by those rules And I wont have a problem...

Again I have to disagree.....this forum is just a bit of a laugh....the chap was just having a good time.......How about someone setting up a spam forum so that guys like this can let out their nutty (sometimes insulting) inner child and not bother the people who are here about serious stuff. If cloud would like...I will gladly offer my services as moderater of the board??????

Im with TCT on this one. I don't like any of Wally's posts esp. the ones insulting monty.

This does not give me or anyone else the right to silence him. The flip side of this is that you (YES YOU!) are also free to voice your opinion in anyway you like. You can reply to these lame posts with an objection or simply ignore it and let it slide down the boards but what I believe you do NOT have the right to do is take down his post.

But then I'm not an admin and I very much doubt anyone would ever make me one.

I agree totally that people have a right to voice opinions. I just think that a certain amount of politeness is called for.
call it courtesy or netiquette or whatever you like.
I do not think that people should have the right to insult other people.

tct might have a good idea - an insult board ?
I don't think I'd be going there somehow

I'm telling you the simple solution is to zap the posts. Don't reply, don't lock off. Just zap it. Don't give the flames air to breath.

Thanx El Pres.....Admins should never take down a post that someone has put up....unless of course it is completely unrelated to a topic. In the case of Wally however...he put up a new topic saying that monty is a gimp.....(A view which i do not side with)....He had no idea what the After Hours boards were...NO ONE DOES........
I still think that a spam/insult board is the way to go....YOU CAN'T STOP T@HE REVOLUTION!!!!!!
may i request that that last statement be stricken from the record.

Anyway...set up a spam board......If people don't want to go it....they don't have to!!!!!
