I got this email today which Im really amazed at. Have a read :


From : Hannelore [edited cos of whining w4nkers]
Subject : About your room101.co.uk

Dear Eric Mooney...I'm writing in regards to your domain room101.co.uk.

Sombody at this company had placed your stats link on one of the web
sites designed by my company. This is piracy and hacking and should be

reported. I let it go this time but if it happened again I will take
appropriate actions against you.

I'm rather surprised I have received your email. I think your very mistaken. I believe the site I run is www.room101.org.

The site has been completely and utterly written by myself and has no other links to any other company which do not already have expressed permission. What are you talking about that someone has 'placed your stats'? Can you explain?. If you can provide some information that something from my site has be taking from one of your developed sites I will remove it and you have my apologies.

However, I don't believe this is the case. Please don't ever mail me again with accusations of hacking and piracy. Go look up the term hacking please you will find that if a user puts a link to another site it does not come under the term of 'hacking or piracy'. If you made use of your time which you used to write that email you could have spent it getting your facts straight and got at least the domain correct.

My theory is that he claims there's a line of code on one of his sites that calls your access statistics account (whatever it may be) for room101.org, therefore claiming hits to his site....

There is no line of code on that site which links stats to any site. In fact, there are no stats!

Personally i would have mailed him back a ransom note, saying i'd have my expert team of l337 hackers infaltrate his systems causing them activte the hypoglandreactacal matrix (a very explosive substance) and blow up the whole building.

1 firstly he/she/they must of had some reason for sending the e-mail

2 it was quiet funny

3 moran is the correct term if and only if he is wrong not saying mp had anything to with it but someone may have tampered with one or both the sites in question.

4 was the other site in anyway related to room101? i.e. was it a gaming site as such?
