I'm going for 2 weeks in may, the embassy just waffled on about something totally boring when I called, so can anyone tell me if I need anything other than my passport to visit there?

    Thanks.

If you hold an Irish passport, you do not need a visa for a short stay.

    See: Visa Waiver

As far as i know once you hold a Irish passport, you only need a Visa if you plan to stay for more than 4 weeks (could be three) or if you plan to work (legally) while in America.

Thanks, a few people told me that already, but obviously your opinions are more worthwhile:D

I'm only going for 2 weeks, not a chance of me doing anything remotely resembling work, just drinking and all the rest.

Just remember that you will need to fill out soem forms at immigration / customs (either in Dublin / Shannon if leaving from Ireland or on the plane if going from somewhere else).

Also, Answer only what you are asked at immigration!

And on the way in the answer to "any fruits or vegetables" is not "oh, great, erm, a bag of apples, two oranges and a bunch of grapes please. Oh, and a cucumber"

I went over last year for 2 weeks , filled in a form we got on the plane before landing in the states, asked a few simple questions and was in the country in a few mins, I'm told that people have to que for ages sometimes but I didnt have this problem.
