RTE has sent a letter to TV dealers advising them that their Dungarvan, West Co. Waterford transmitter is to cease the VHF Band 3 transmission of RTE1 and Net2 soon. These two stations have also been on UHF Chs 53 and 57 (with TG4 on Ch 63) from this transmitter for over the past year and viewers still on VHF will have to retune to UHF. The announced switch-off date is 22/April/2002 and a notice will be superimposed on the VHF signals from this transmitter advising people to switch over to the UHF channels before then.
