    Hiyahs,

Hope some1 can help me with this. Ive got SMS 2.0 server setup nicely (or at least I think it is) - (sms 2 +service pack3, sql 7.0 with sp5).

its has discovered all my systems, packages/advertisements and schedules that have been created.

however, I just cant seem to get the the pc's to accept the package. Do I need to install some software onto the PC's /servers for SMS distribution to actually work ?

Any help from people whos used SMS 2.0 is much appreciated.

Used to use SMS 1.0 alot..

    Are all your workstations imported?
i.e. are they running the sms client software?

You should use : Novell's Zenworks for Desktops..
Much better reviews in the press..

i used to use sms 2, but not for role out etc, just for remote admining.
i suspect you need a client side app.
    not too sure.
will have a look at that one

Can you browse the workstations from the Management Console?
i.e. view HW inventory, SW inventory, Remote control etc?

Hi MindPhuck, That's fine, but the point i'm trying to get across, is that you wont be able to distribute packages to your clients (workstations) unless the workstations are recognised (viewable) in your management console. Are they?

Yeah I can see all my clients. It even tells me its going to actually install, but when I check the event viewer I get a very obscure message (which I'll try and dig out and paste here)

Im sure its working, its just one key thing thats wrong thats screwing it up. I'll get back to ye with the msgs.
