    Wow!

Anyone at Leprecon in TCD last weekend will have seen the HUGE OGRE game that was so big, it even left the games designer (Steve Jackson, no the other one) at a loss for words

Kudos to Eamon, Vinne, Hugh and Phil Gray frm the MIB UK Cell for running such an epic undertaking.

Anyone who missed it (shame on you), apprently something similar is set up for future cons..very very fast wargme it is too...a HUGE game only took..what..3 hrs tops?

    3 hours?? hmm .. I'm impressed.

I recall one year at Leprehcon (1993/4) this MASSIVE epic40k (2nd ed.) game that was played. 6 people, 24,000 pts aside, and they only got through turn 1!! And that took MORe than 3 hours

Not surprised! When I used to play 40K back then we had a 3 day match with 15,000 points each side, playing about 6 hrs a day!!

Mind you, got a set of the OP Mighty Empires recently...best game EVER. It's a board game about conquest n' politics n' stuff but you can play out the battles using WFB 3rd ed. We played it for an entire sumer once, with battle, about 2-3 days a week. By the end of the 3 months we were in turn four I think :)

But yeah, OGRE is a *reall* quick and enjoyable system. Everyone left the table eager for more, not gamed out and still had time to play other events!

    Mmm...OGRE
