I've been (am currently) working 10am to 8pm tonight, no break, when i clean up i'm headin for a lan party in waterford, then i'm back in work tomorrow at 11am.

In preperation for this i've been drinking coffe/ latté's / cappuccino's and am now currently drinking a triple espresso but with only the normal amount of water that you'd use for an espresso... my god is it nasty! *shudder*
What d'ya think, could it cause any perminent damage? :)

on side note anyone near celtel kilkenny call in now n see azezil flooting around like a humming bird! weeeeeee :D lol

    hmm, LAN or sleep?
I suppose you could always bring a sleeping bag to the LAN and have the best of both worlds... and maybe if you're lucky - people will glue things to you while you're alseep?

    Ah you'll be fine.....

4 days straight ? Must have been interesting, people normally start mildly hallucinating after 2 and then it gets worse..

After 3 days i was absolutely freezing, constant chills but i had very nice sensations in my head but i only got those every other hour, after 4 days my eye lids were making a clicking noise but the cool sensations were happening every 5 minutes.

I went for 40-41hours straight at the GalwayLAN2.5

Towards the end I didn't feel tired at all, was actaully wide awake (didn't have any coffe either which was wierd) and full of energy.
was like a Revenant for the next week or so after it though.
Worth it for all the leeching and gaming :)

That is exactly what happens to me too! It's hard to describe those cool sensations. Your whole body just freezes up for a second, but then you're ok afterwards and ready to go on... well for another 5 minutes anyway. I don't think it would be safe to go more than 4 days without sleep!

There was an article on the newspaper there a good while ago about this young fella that drank a couple of cans of it on a night out and had a heart attack. Apparently it closed up his arteries to the point where his heart couldnt handle it.

I think that was a guy playing basketball.
Do you not feel sick after going more then 24 hours without sleep? I always feel like **** and go mad pale and then I'm too tired to sleep it's just insomnia and you dont really know whats going on.
Actually I kept drinking coffee to stay awake and I got really sick from too much of it. So in answer to your question is it safe.... probably not

Going pale is another nice effect of a lack of sleep also can be induced with a lack of food.....

Ive been known to stay awake for far longer than 24hrs and I seriously advise against doing so. Its not good for you, it weakens your immune system. If your prone to getting every bug that goes around then definatly dont stay awake too long.

Well done it, still alive! which is nice.

Sunday got to work for 11, i was grand while walking around but when i sat down i kept nodding off... felt rather naucious too, possibly due to the amout of caffine and chololate i consumed.

So went to bed at 8 last nite, had to be up for 7... still tired but i think it was worth it. Probably won't do it again any time soon though :) maybe in a month or so.

What made you go 4 days with out sleep? was the law after you? Combat?

Did 3-4 days a few times (insomnia), after a certain point you find it really hard to sleep and you get kinda hyper. One time the boss sent me home cause I was scaring customers :D I looked like death!

the most tired ive ever been was after a social day out at work.

    -worked on the saturday (11-8).

-went out drinking and then on to club.

-after club wandered a bit, went back to a mates house and got showered/changed.

-caught bus to oakwood theme park in wales at 5.30am.

-drank on the 99 mins ferry over.

-went to oakwood. had a good time. left oakwood.

-got back on bus for quick trip to pub. consumed 7 southie and limes in 45 mins (i kid you not!)

-bought 2 six year olds girls (they were releated to someone from work) a mcdonalds because they had lined up the seven glasses in a row!

-got on bus, then back on 99mins ferry.

-drank ass-loads of bacardi breezers on ferry (they were 12 for 10 sterling!!)

-got on bus. drank more bacardi breezer. sang.

-got back to tipperary about 12.30am. some of us decided in our infinite wisdom to go to club. went to club. got more drunk on southie and lime.

-walked home sooooo tired. didnt recover for about a week.

I'm heading to Room 101 at the end of March, 72 hours of fragging fun - wondering if I should try staying awake and fragging for every minute of it. My worry is that by the end of it I'll be in no state to carry my rig and monitor back out without dropping it, just leaving it there, or curling up under the desk for a snooze...

Will see how it goes, get some stay-awake pills or something. :)

    (coffee smells funny)
