That is actually rather cool. I sometimes wonder what these people'd achieve if they worked with more permanent material.

...then again maybe that's the whole point, and I'm missing it...

More American emotional masturbastion, just right for Oprah and the average viewer of day-time TV.

Before I start, let me state once that I am totally against terrorism and violence, and what happened on Sept 11th was an unacceptable act of barbarism ... BUT

How many people died? 4,000 or thereabouts?

    - How many people die in the USA every year? let me tell you, something like 20,000,000 (Yep 20 Million, thats nearly 6,000 every day, some tragic, some, not everyone of them loved and missed by their families and loved ones).

Death is death, what about those every week who die in car crashes, from accidents? Why are their lives cheaper and less worth remembering than those who happened to be in 2 skyscrapers in NY on that day?

    - How many people where killed in Rwanda in a week of bloody violence? How many statues in ice remind us of them?

    - How many have died in East Timor?

    - How many die of famine, disease every day on this planet?

It was a bad day, but on a global scale of death it barely registers.

is there a difference between 1 person and 4000.
i expect that means the omagh bombing means even less to you coz only 23 people were killed in that one.
    hardly worth mentioning eh?

and this gives you the right to tell people how they show their grief. how they deal with aftershock of mass murder.
who the hell said that anyones life is worth less?
thats your words in your you post. no-one elses. just becuase you are some little jumped up angst-ridden little twat does not give you the right to tell someone else how to feel about some tragedy, or how to express it.

how many fúcking statues did you build for the omagh bombing victims? or enneskilin? or anything in ireland?
what about the last bank holiday road accidents?
where are your memorials to those people?

so if someone decides to make a piece of art to the people that died in their own country, causeing countrywide shock, you must look upon it with derision eh? you big tough boy you.
why dont you go and tell the firefighters and trhe police of NYC what a waste of time their efforts were.

you are so very very very wrong.
    i cant believe your arrogance.

'im sorry it happened, but its not that important really is it?
yep, i can imagine who appreciative the families of the victims, and the poeple of NYC would feel if yu said that to them.
sctually, you know what, i dont think i can. i dont think i can imagine at all.
    and neither can you.
im sure if your family was killed in a carcrash tomorrow youd really enjoy someone coming up and telling you that over all not too many people died in february, so its not that bad now is it.

no, im sure you wouldnt like that all.
stop trying to be all hard and anti-american and unemotional to try and look cool.
you have just become tosser number 1 on this board as far as im concerned.

That's a good point - what exactly did these "heroic and brave" firefighters do except show up and have a building fall on them?

Oh and BTW, you need to relax - You're going to have a heart attack.

And one other thing, if the owners of these boards would like them to remain profanity free, what does it say about you as a moderator using accented characters just so that you can cuss and get around the rule?

These brave people showed up and went into a collapsing building so they might save one or two lives.
They are heros no matter what way you put it and the audacity you have to say all they did was have a building fall on them is unreal.
You act as if we dont mourn other deaths, the reasons why almost everyone mourns sept. 11th is because nearly everyone knew somebody working there.

Also the fact that you are comparing the ragic events based on numbers.
The executions after the easter rising, how many died, 12 I think, nah aint importent enough.

The reasons why the americans mourn sept. 11th so much is because it was an attack on their way of life.
I am not pro-american any way you wish to put it but you have the audacity to come in and claim that those people who went into a burning building which had just been hit by a plane to save someones life are not heroes.

I think you need a reality check, people die, thats what happens, if people wish to mourn it its their choice, you however have absolutly no right to claim that their deaths were pointless.
