    I was told by my boss that I got the job because of my attitude towards work and personality... which I though was strange...

    As its a small company I am kinda the face of the IT dept in the company and he reckoned that I would get on better with the users than he would.. which happened to be true...

    So I got the job not because I was the most technical.. which I wasnt... but because of other factors..

    that's not strange at all Toxic - you will find that most companies are looking for someone who will fit in with everyone else, I believe most places are looking for this, it can only help with the smooth running of the company and a better atmosphere all around. Lets be honest, most companies have their own specific way or running things which will have to be learned by a new employee anyway, so what they need is someone with more than 2 brain cells who is willing to give it a go and do their best.
