The thread was posted on the Cable and MMDS forum I think, I signed it last week and I was No. 1600 so its fairly flyin'!

Come to think of it, didnt the old cablelink bow to public pressure when they removed MTV? after a pretty concerted campaign, they brought it back.

Yeha, everyone got out of bed one morning and found that Eurosport had been replaced with a day long rehashing of Business news with that curly ended moustachioed freak, and semi-laughs with Jay, Conan and friends all day long.

Even if Eurosport do show relpays even the most boring matches in their entirety, its still better that what we have now, and it was definitely watched more in my house.

yep same here, i still have the channel and i dont have satalite.
and i really feel for those ppl who lost it cos there was some good football on yesterday. they were showing France v Russia live and then all the highlights of the other matches. In brazils match against Portugal all the best players were playing Ronaldo/Rivaldo/Ronaldinho/Carlos/Figo. I fail to see why the cable company think that people wont want to watch that kind of line up.

where in the country has eurosport been dropped? dublin?

Anywhere in the ROI where NTL does the cable. That's Galway and Waterford as well as Dublin.

I realise Colon O'Brien and Mr. Chin are about as funny as getting your teeth pulled but lets not let that fool us into remembering Eurosport as anything other than a second rate sports channel chocked full of drivel.

I'm sure if downhill skiing or watching over-the-hill, out-of-shape heavyweight boxers fight for a sandwich is your thing then the mourn the loss of Eurosport, but for the rest of us ... who cares?
