Ok, in the explorer windows on win2k, if you click on any multi-media files like jpg, mp3, wav, mpg, the left side of the explorer window will let you preview it right? I have this problem where if I click on a mpg, avi or any movie and explorer tries to preview it, I then can't delete it without rebooting. Anyone know what causes this and how it can be fixed? I can't find much info on this on the microsoft support site.

ps: no I do not want to disable preview

Do you get the same problem if you try to rename it?? If so, I have the same problem with mp3 files. When they are selected, i cannot rename them. It gives me an "Access is Denied" error, "Make sure the disk is not full and write protected and that the file is not currently in use". It is some sort of MS problem, the preview pane seems to open a lock on the file, thus preventing it from modifications i.e. renaming or deleting. I found the only way around it is to change the folder options to "Use Windows Classic View", thus disabling the web view.

It's beyond me why anyone would want to use the "web view", it just adds clutter, and isn't useful enough to justify the extra cráp. It also introduces problems, like the one you're having now. Is it worth it?
