I know how to make invisible directories on the network but is it possible to make the machine invisible?

Basically I have a machine with zero remote access but I still get various machines trying to connect to it. I want to make the machine visible only if you know the actual name (In windows, TCP/IP I'm not that worried aobut).

easy to solve this prob. whe u connect to the net, just use linux! and IP-Masquerading. u use the linux box as a gateway to the internet. so now u have full internet acces from one machine but its invisible to the outside world..
