so dont use it! Or send them an email telling them to cancel it.. If you dont want to use it then dont and dont worry about it!

It'll just fill up with 5 or 10 megs of spam, and then stop receiving mail. What's the problem?

    Thats good then!
then the spammers will leave it alone them?

I just hate those 50kb spams that cost $$$ to download.

If you want to get rid of mails quickly instead of downloading the spam and then having to clear it use http://webmail.eircom.net
and login through your browser - saves hassle.
There might be a filter option there for you.

if its a subscription account u want to cancel, u have to ring that eircom.net number on the bill....they will tell u to send an e-mail to someone(cant remember who!) confirming your cancellation
    hope it helps :)

if ya have a unix box with fetchmail handy:

    fetchmail -c -u username mail2.eircom.net -p pop3

    the -c checks the mail.
