    win 2k wont let me install quake 2!¬


    anyone have a quick fix?

    Not 100% sure but this has somin to do with the way win 2k sets up an certain machines as far as i know. Older games the are more closly related to DOS seem to have trouble running in windows 2k. You could try a bios boot into dos if ya have it lying around somewhere but that a whole new pain in the ass anyway. Soz for the explaination with no real answer :(

    yes
    the entire game is on the disk, copy and paste :)
    c:\quake2\baseq2 <-pak0 **** in there
    c:\quake2\ <- quake2.exe + dll **** in there

    oh and leave the cd in for the first few runs.

    because i have never played it :D
    well i plaed it single player once or twice.

    my old pi100 24ram couldnt handle it :)

    the copying cd trick worked.
