Quit while you're ahead Fergie...before you end up like that other Fergie the press know and despise so well...

No atari here Eamo this is the Sports board. We now have the extra option of "Suger-Free Alan Kernaghan" :)

If he wants to stay he should stay, and if not he should go, however what he definitely shouldn't be doing is all this arsing around saying he's going and then not etc. Can't exactly be helping the team's stability.

Wait maybe he should keep doing it so :)

He should leave! he should have left at the end of last season! i hope he goes because it would be nicer to see a different face!!!

If i were a Man Utd fan I'd want him to stay, anyway there's
no-one remotely qualified to replace him at the mo as all the best coaches are tied up. It makes sense for both parties, but Liverpool will still win the league!:D

It's funny, i never considered him to be a good manager due to my hatred of Man U but u gotta admit he aint that bad....He took Aberdeen all the way in Europe!

Me finks he will stay for a year for a number of reasons.

    1. This will make Beckham now make up his mind on wheather he is stayin or not

    2. Capello, O'Neill, Erickson are all available summer 2003

    3. Might get rid of the "I do not give a shi* he is not goin to be here next season" attitude in the dressing room

4 Will help to push up the share price

I am with Yop but I think the three year thing is just a ruse so the press do not make a massive deal of his last season like they did at the start of this season. I think he might do a Shanks at the end of next season.

It's a very clever move by the Board and Fergie but in all honesty was there anyone available to replace him?

No Alex Ferguson MUST GO, if only for Deceiving all the other title contenders :)

it was all just a publicity stunt!! it was done to unsettle all the other clubs that the managers were being tiped to get the job!!!

I must agree also if he was going to leave the Beckham situation and Keane is not to keen on signing a new deal either!!!(Pardon the pun!!!)

Anything's better than having Capello take the reigns, 'cos if he does Utd will have the title for the next 5 seasons, easy.
