I have read through this board a couple of times and i have noticed that there is not much conversation about motor sports (maybe that will pick up when the season starts). Just a thing that i want to share with the rest of you poster out there.

There is a place in monaghan, if you are into speed and wanting to be able to learn on how to control your car, called the rally school of ireland. A couple of friends and myself went there recently for a day course, now i have to say it did set us back a bit of cash but i have to say it was well and truely worth.

The school it self is an off road track consisting of both gravel and asphelt (pardon the spelling) and you have a range of cars to select from but we took the Mk II escort which was a 2.1 on the back wheels and a group N (i think) Subaru Imp.
The whole aim of the course is to teach you to throw the car into the corner and power out of it and yes you do come out sideways. They are fairly open and relaxed with you as long as you are not dogging the hell out of the car the will push you to your limit and maybe a bit further. Now more than likely this will seem like a meaningless post but if any of are intereasted in a good day of fun and are into speed you should try it. I would recommend it to anyone.

    it cost us £250 irish

We had i think 20 + laps in the escort and 10+ in the scooby

the course is 1km long and has 13 bends ranging from full throttle to handbrake.

like i said earlier if you have a bit of cash floating you should try it, if you can drive they will teach you how to do it better and it is alot of fun

Cheers for the info. Sounds pretty reasonable considering it costs about a score for 10 mins on a track the size of your garden in a shi*ty little go kart near where i live.

If I wasn't so broke or far away from Monaghan I'd defo go 4 it!!
