Just wondering what subject's people are doing, at what level and if there happy with there choice

    Irish Honors
    Maths Honors
    English Pass
    French Honors
    Physics Honors
    Chemisty Honors
    Applied Maths Honors
    Economics Honors

Only thing i'm not really happy with is Chemisty, I find it completely mind boggling and wish i didn't take it up. Doing the whole course in one year doesn't help much either.

    Irish Ordinary
    Maths Higher
    English Higher
    German Higher
    Biology Higher
    Business Higher
    Classics Higher

I switched out of chemistry after two months in 5th year and took up business... best decision I ever made except it meant that I had to take up Geography as a second science subject about 3 weeks ago... now just need to get that course covered in 4 months...

Classics is a good subject, really interesting except the actual exam is a fecker... purely essay based and only something like 0.3% who sit it get As...
[statistic may prove to be untrue, but it's something really low anyhow]

geography counts as a science subject ?
heh, i switched from business to chemisty after 3 days in 5th year cos business put me to sleep :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 357 ✭✭rachel

does for science in Trinity so fortunately I don't need to go back to chemistry...

business may be boring but it's a hell of a lot easier to get an A in and most of the time we just watch videos...:D

    Irish Higher
    English Higher
    Maths Higher
    Physics Higher
    Geography Higher
    Business Higher
    T.D. Higher

I would have done French instead of Business, but it would have meant doing Chemistry/Accounting instead of T.D. or Geography (2 subjects I wanted to do) at my school.

Think the Maths is quite hard, and Irish, but thats probably too much online time! ;)

Physics is interesting, especially when we have to try to figure out how to do an experiment when the teacher can't remember! ;)
TD is interesting, easy and not boring. We usually get a double class every 2 weeks using Autocad; recently started 3D stuff. :)
Geography and Business imho are easy and boring.

I'm in 5th year now btw.

Pass English and honours Irish? That seems like a strange subject combination considering honours Irish is so damn hard :P

    I'm doing

    English Honours
    Maths Honours
    History Honours
    App Maths Honours
    Physics Honours
    Chemistry Honours
    Economics Honours

I got a B and a C in honours level Maths and Irish for the junior cert with little or no effort, but I really couldn't be bothered with all the work involved in doing higher level for the leaving, so i just dropped down, I wouldn't have minded but the work would have been a complete waste of time, as I've no interest in either of them. Also, I dropped french after the junior cert, I realised about a month ago that i'm going to have to take it up again as an 8th subject and pass it if I want to go to UCD/Maynooth, so I'm going to have to do something about that some time in the near future.

If I was picking my subjects again I'd take History instead of Geography and Biology instead of Physics and Chemistry, those two really wreck my head.

Hate all languages and accounting. Couldnt do hons Irish, only passed the mock cos I saw the paper 2 days before the exam. I'll be delighted with a C in hons English. Wanted to do biology instead of accounting, damn scheduling! Or TD, but my school doesnt offer it. I did it until I moved school in 2nd year, always got A's!
