anyone got any tips as to when best to search for cheap flights from Dublin to Edinburgh on the net...

I know go and ryanair offer cheap flights but it's still working out at about £40 pp return and as jobless leaving cert students that's going to work out too expensive...

I vaguely remember someone telling me that there are certain times and days when it's easier to get cheap flights but I can't remember the details...

    :(

Try different days of the week. Midweek is usually best. friday and monday are worst.

Try different times of day. Mid-day and late evening would be better than 'rush-hour'.

Book well in advance (2-8 weeks), the cheapest tickets tend to be sold first.

Avoid football / conference / event weekends.

But at the same time, is 40 pounds that much compared to what you will spend on the weekend?

it shouldn't be but I haven't had a job since last summer plus it's a surprise birthday present for two friends so the rest of us will need to cover the cost of their flights as well as our own while having spending cash left over...

but thank for the tips :)
