ive recently bought echostar AD-3000 IP receiver and wish to attach it to a motorised dish (diseqc 1.2 compatible). problem being is that echostar AD-3000 IP is only diseqc 1.0 compatible according to the manual. is there a way to upgrade to diseqc 1.2 at all?

I thought the 3000 had an inbuilt positioner?
Diseqc 1.0 is actually more i demand as you can control up to 30 LNb's with it.

This site might help you Utilities you will need to register before you can download.

yes it does have an in-bulit positioner. im quite new to this, but i need to hook it up to some kind of a motor to make it go :) left and right. im not prepared to take control over 30 lnbs .... yet :) only to get one of them working would be a fantastic feat for myself.

does diseqc matter in this problem or do i just need to get a motor?

If you can download a 1.0-1.2 patch from the above site then buy a Diseqc motor, if not then get a non diseqc motor.

    The difference.

A diseqc motor is essentially the positioner+motor rolled into one as it has its own memory and likkle processor but the limit for dish size is a light 1.2M dish.

A standard motor is reliant on a positioner for its own power supply and to store dish positions.

I dont know if it can be patched but would be supprised if it cant, and a H2H Disqec system is a brezze to setup.
