Well what do ye think? To Door or not to Door that is the question! :)

If I'm going through a doorway with someone behind me, I'll usualy hold it open for them, depending on how far behind they are (not to make a big issue out of it by waiting more than 5 seconds for them to catch up... that'd look weird).
Regardless of gender, it's just good manners to hold the door open behind you, instead of letting it close in someones face... this is assuming the door is the springy auto-close sort.

If it's a matter of running up infront of somebody and opening the door for them... all I have to say is 'omg fo lol open it yourself n00b'.
The line between being polite and being patronising isn't all that blury as far as I can see... if someone gets ratty over door-holding or lack there of - I'm sure they can fo and gss.

    thx pld

Oh second thoughts... Automatic doors FFS!?

And demolish all other kinds of doors!

I'd always hold the door for anyone coming behind me, if they were reasonably close at all, regardless of sex. Also I've got a habit of saying sorry to strangers at the slightest thing, even if I just brushed against them, even if it wasn't my fault, I'll always say something, usually sorry. I think this comes from how ignorant someone looks when they nearly walk into you and just walk off without saying a word, and most of the time when I'm walking about my mind is elsewhere so collisions tend to happen around me, and it's usually my fault I'd say, so I suppose it's not too bad a habit for me :).

I'm kinda the same, usually just say sorry if I bump into someone in the street irrespective of whether its my fault or not.

But I hate people who just barge through and its usally not too hard to spot them coming through the crowd. So in a case like that I usually just stand my ground and 99% of the time unless they are exceptionally big the impact of them knocking against me will send em flying, when they go to push me outta the way.. kinda helps being 6'1.. but hey it wasnt my fault, so I just give them a dirty look and keep going.. :D

As for the door thingy.. well yeah I usually tend to hold the door open for people if they are anyway close to me... or I meet someone coming through the same door as me in the opposite direction, I will stand back and let them through first... :)

I hate it when you stop and hold the door for someone to let them go through first, and then they stop to let YOU go through... I'm being polte, damnit!

(post 666. Just thought I'd mention that)

Presumably it's a bonus if they have sex with you as a result, but it's nice to know that you don't demand it.

For my own part - what Santy said, basically.

    Door

of course the time delay all depends on sex and attractiveness.

The only way ill wait with the door held open for someone would be if that someone was a HOT lady. keeping a door open for her in that case is almost like saying

"im sir walter raleigh, now gimmie a good rollicking !!"

Reading the current thread, I had to get this one in...

I always have a habit of keeping the door open for people near but not if they're a good bit away, I feel the same way as SantaHoe does,
depending on how far behind they are (not to make a big issue out of it by waiting more than 5 seconds for them to catch up... that'd look weird).
    .

So the one thing I hate is not knowing when to hold the door open...it's hard to judge the distance, because almost 99% of the time, I choose to close the door and not wait, less than 2 seconds later i hear the door opening and then I feel like a right toole...and other times, when I decide to wait, they seem to take ages, and then I feel "Righty now she thinks you're strange and whether or not you do this type of thing often...she's running away now...!"

hehe or when you close the door and someone's right behind you and you didn't check beforehand..."WHACK! Oh ****, i mean, sorry, bollocks, **** sorry about that, should have kept your eyes open...no it was my fault...ahem sorry...****!".
    :D

id always hold the door depending on how far behind me thay are.

and mills, i do exactly the same thing, cos where i work im always hitting customers when rolling pallets etc... so ive developed a habit of saying 'sorry' to everyone for everything.

    Atari Jaguar...obviously.

I'll hold the door open if someone is close by....regardless of how much sex they offer me.

I always hold the door open for people, unless it's a really fat person because, let's face it, they need some goddamn exercise.:p

While I actually voted for Atari Jaguar (as I voted before I read the poll) I always hold the door for ladies.

I also put my cloak over puddles for them to walk over them and kiss female hands if proffered. I also get really horny if I catch a glimpe of a fair damsons ankle. UNNF! UNNF!
