I urge each and every one of you to go and see Monsters, inc. I managed to get into the "staff + 1" preview in UCI, and I was blown away. It's really well animated, really nice story, and best of all - it's genuinely quite believable.

For myself, personally, I felt as though Toy Story was an example of Disney thinking "Wow, well.. we've got this technology.. what can we do with it?".. Toy Story 2 was then "Well.. we've got this franchise, how can we make more money off it?". With Monsters, inc, I got a feeling that someone at Disney finally sat down and said "Right, we know what we can do with it.. now let's see if we can make a good movie with it". They certainly did.

    And yes, I cried.

(Shrek isn't listed above because, although I agree, it was funny, it wasn't as funny as the press would have you believe - and Mike Myers' voice acting ruined the whole thing for me)

Also, before the screening, there was a nice animated short called uh.. "For The Birds", I think. That too, was really nice. Except, I was amazed at the amount of animators it had listed, especially considering it only ran for about five minutes. But I guess, if you've got the money - use it.

I cant wait to see it.
You can see half of for the birds here: http://www.pixar.com/shorts/index.html and the rest of the shorts pixar have made.
I have seen for the birds at the animation festival last year in the IFC. I laughed till i cried.

Well I went to see Monsters Inc last night and my sides still aren't feeling the best I laughed so much..... This is a ab fab film. I wont give anything away but the trailors dont give away everything there is still plenty of laughs for you to see for the first time. As usual dont leave the cinema until all the credits are over or you will miss some very funny pieces indeed. Also for the love of god dont be late as there is a short cartoon on before the main film that had the whole aduidance in stiches I'm going looking for it now (come on google dont fail me :)). I would honestly go see it again and I will be buying the DVD as soon as it comes out. Some of the Toy Story cast make a come back as well.

The animation is nothing short of perfect and pixar have keep up the good work.

My advice see it as soon as you can if not sooner.

In the words of Mao Tse Tsung: That was a great film. Rarrrrr..

Great animation, great characters, some truly funny moments of utter genius, and a kick ass chase scene at the end. The only good films these days are computer animated. They seem to be the only ones that provide even the remotest hint of inspiration.

    Great cameo by Rex too..Rarr..
