Mick McCarthy For Newcastle...?

I heard over the weekend that Newcastle were interested in
bringing in Mick McCarthy to replace Bobbie Robson, should he go or should he seek to extend his Rep of Ireland contract.

Dispite my Dunphy-like misgivings when he was appointed, he's come good and wants de repuberlic to play actual football, if he went God only knows what horrors might follow, Jack 2 anyone?

Who would follow McCarthy, I cant think of anyone who, a, might really want the job and, b, be good enough.

    Mike.

I think Mick McCarthy just signed a new 2 year contract but I'm not sure about that

His talks with the FAI have stalled as far as I know. dave O LEary would be one for the future but you would never pull him out of club football yet. Otherwise I would not object to Brian Kerr haveing a go, I reckon he deserves a shot for all the good work he did underage levels. Aldo would be another one for the future but there are not too many who could just take over now. But then again that is exactly what I thought about Mick Mc Carthy when he took over, but he did need to learn as he went on.

His contract is up tomorrow, which makes him a free agent for any club to offer him a job and pay no compo to the FAI

Typical they let it go this far, he could earn twice the amount at a club and you would not blame him.

He is a good manager, will not win us anything but we will always be there.

The will probably do a gatland and blame him!
