Need an image for a mod :)

I'm going to mod my case.
Planning a general paint job first (i can take care of that bit myself ) but a plexi-glass window with an etching on it on the side to show off my hardware (:p).

I'm looking for something from the Eldar, Orks or Space Marines of Warhammer 40k, though anything that's similar would go down just as well.

I'll post up some source images tomorrow or monday (the latest).
I'm not asking anyone to do the work for me and this would all be in monotone/8-bit greyscale.

Might I also ask for a bit of help on colour co-ordination?

I'm thinking of putting a Royal/Rich Blue Pearlescent (or lightly metallic) main coat on it, with a suitable undercoat and Laquer and rubbing solution to finish.

Primarily I need an image for the etching and possibly a case badge, but I 'might' be up for a simple design on the right hand side of the case if I get adventurous

The logos would be simple distinct designs.

Hmm, etching on plexi-glass? How're you gonna achieve that?

Anyway, it'd be funky to do the blue thing and maybe on the non-plexi side an airbrushed line drawing of yer avatar - I'd say a rich orange... you could put it on the badge too... ?

Wouldn't that just look like some Grafiti scratched on some plexiglass?

It would be nice to have a bit of art on it but at the end of the day etching it on is just going to be a snazzy looking scratch.

Not physically cutting into the plexiglass.
It's akind of sticker type thing afaik.
I'm not too sure if it's readily available.
got the idea from a link to a yank modding site.

Sorry I don't have the images with me today.
Was rushing out teh door this morning, booted the PC, popped in a floppy and.....the damn thing couldn't create file for some reason (not write protected - probably just full).
Had two all scanned (one for the actual 'rune' and one of an eldar avatar (for cool factor - not for case).

I've got a lecture now aswell.
I('ll have a look for an image on the web if I can.

Nah, if you're going with a nice deep blue, go with orange I'd say. Yellow just looks too pale IMO... OTOH if it's a lighter blue, yellow might well work better...

The Saim-Hann Craftworld icon is another posibility.
If I cleaned one up and brought it to a printing shop, do you reckon tehy could do what i need?

Either would be very simple... just used those images to trace new originals with Photoshop and get a decent print. You could create a stencil pretty easily... what kinda size are you looking at? Maybe a foot high?

Can do it for ya if you like...

the window is on hold for the time being. Just want to get it painted first. Then I'll cut the hole for teh plexiglass.
A Stencil is actually much more along the lines of what i had in mind.
Just going to get the Saim-hann one made up for the case badge.
Migh do something for the buttons too.

I'll post a few scanned photos later as my progress goes along.
I'm practising on an old case I have lying around, then onto a custom firewall type thing, then onto my proper case

Didn't bother using IMG tags here cos the images are a bit big (180-350K).
I scanned them at high res (720-1200dpi), reduced them and touched em up with paintshoppro.
Should have some more images of all sorts once I get my webpage up and running (again)
