SKY Digital Promo being looped on Sky Premier

Did anyone else have a 36 hour long (at least) interruption to SKY PREMIER over the weekend, with a promo on SKY DIGITAL & SKY + being run instead?

I haven't bothered to ring Chorus about it, as I'd get a quicker answer here!

    Sample phone call to Chorus:

Me: Why is there a promo on instead of SKY PREMIER?
    Chorus: There isn't.
    Me: Oh yes there is.
Ch: Then switch off your set top box, and on again.
    Me: I haven't got one.
    Ch: Oh yes you have.
    Me: Oh no I haven't.
Ch: There's no other way to get our signal:
    Me: Oh yes there is:
    Ch: What's your account number?
Me: nnnnnnn(That's me giving account number)
Ch: That's not a valid account number.
Me: Oh yes it is, you send me a bill each month with this number on top. It was originally a Cable Management Ireland Number, before you bought them out.
    Ch: Oh no we didn't.
Me: Do you actually know anythng about your company, or how you broadcast the signal?
(I've already put the phone down before saying this bit, in exasperation, under my breath)

Hahaha, do Chorus actually use a digibox to get their channels? I wonder if they even have permission. ;) BTW, what happened was that their digibox crashed or reset, and went back to ch 998. :)

do Chorus actually use a digibox to get their channels?

This is something I've wondered myself. The answer I think must be yes. Several times (and tonight is a case in point), I've watched as a phantom operator re-tunes my channels from an EPG that I don't have, sometimes even having the cheek to fiddle with the volume controls. (Theirs, not mine!)

My persistent trouble with the red dot on Sky Sports 3 also seems to prove this - I don't have digital do I can do nothing about it, but it would seem that they take a digital signal and re-broadcast it over analogue.

I doubt wasting money on chorus digital would get rid of the dot

Ah, these anecdotes remind me of the famous 'prime-time freeze' that afflicted UK terrestrials on Chorus. Usually around 7pm (just as you get in and sat in front of the TV), the four UK's would freeze.

And Always they would come back at around 9.20 the following morning. Roughly around the time an engineer had got to work, clocked in , boiled a kettle, read The Sun and then cleared the problem. Amazing that a cable company of any size would have 9-5 technical support.
