Just found these(soz if they were posted already) and in fairness it does sound like good news :)
especial the bit about the goverment not waiting for telco,s to get their heads out of their arses.

    http://www.ireland.com/special/supplements/revolution/dotcom5.htm

    http://www.idaireland.com/docs/ecommgl.html

    http://www.europemedia.com/content1/Ireland/29_Feb_2000.shtml

I know two of them say the same thing but there were a couple of bits different.

I have a good feeling about this which is as strong as the feelings i had (and since been proved right) about eircoms dirty tricks campaign to hold up realistic unbundling of the loop way back in december 2000.I realy do beleive that the goverment has looked stupid long enough.Add to that the Tiger economy dieing down i think they are a little more keen to make this country a viable base for big business.

    Stone:D

if you build it they will come !!!! ooo spooky :D

Those articles are quite old Stone. The europemedia one is dated February 2000, and although the ireland.com one isn't dated - an ireland.com speciality that - I think it's from not much later on. The Global Crossing deal has turned into a wee bit of an embarassment for the Irish Government when you get right down to it.

The IDA link seems to be just a glossary.
