k i am doing a bit of cable tv wiring in my house and i need a bit of advice
these are these the connectors to connect coxial cable to a tv? if so which is better the crimp or twist version i want one that you put on once and it doesnt move
chorus use ones which look like these thats what i think i need also i have a cable comming in that has a connector like this what would i use to split in 2 with little picture quality reduction? i was aslso think of getting EON or just using the astra satellite with my cable tv i was wondering if it is possible to merge the 2 sources and have them on the one cable ? also where would i get all this equiptment?

The first two and the last one look like stalite/cable screw in connectors that are used to connect the amp they installed to the ntl decoder and then to the vcr(coax 1 end sat the other). The guy who hooked my digital up has a special little thing for inserting the wire into these properly.

The middle one in looks like the coax connector ntl use now and it needs that device too. My advice is to buy ready made lengths of these cables (coax2coax, coax2sat, sat2sat). You can buy them in power city, peats and try maplins and the like. Theres loads.

These cables are only used for the analogue signal from ntl. For the digital its just scart from decoder to vid then into tv-av socket. As for splitting the signal. To be able to get the digi stations on the other tvs i have a booster splitter. It takes in the analogue feed into the VHF input and i have a coax feeding the digi signal into the UHF input. This seems the only way to get the high quality output from both digital and analogue onto one cable. The booster by the way is one you plug in (dont get they cheapy splitter with no vhf and uhf). It has 4 outputs all with both signals and massively improves quality on upstairs and kitchen tvs.

    Dotsie.
