I forgot to include the 6 Nations Rugby (would be my second choice). If a Moderator is reading this, could you add it to the list? Ta.

League of Ireland soccer, I know its no the greatest quality but I think with less scoring done in Soccer there's much more tension, which brings on entertainment

When we are winning, Soccer Int'ls at the "Lanner" are tops!! So they get my first vote:)

Ironically the only Gaelic Football matches I've ever been at were the Mayo vs Meath final and replay in 96(?) and I must say they were most exciting. Been at a few excellent Leinster matches at Donnybrook in the heinken cup as well and they've been failry electric atmospheres!

    Its very, very fast gameplay,

and if you've ever been to an all ireland semi-final, final then you know the sheer atmosphere in croke park.

    OJ asked:
    Where's Formula one there?

Eh... where's the Irish Formula One Grand Prix held?...

    Yeah... thought so.

F1 isn't there because it ISN'T a spectator sport IN Ireland. You cannot go somewhere in Ireland and be a spectator at a F1 event.

I voted for Hurling... as it barely squeezes out the rugger (IMHO!), as the most genuinely entertaining spectator sport in this country... - even though I've never been to an All-Ireland Championship hurling match in my life and have gone to all of the Rep. of Ireland's recent (past 2 1/2 years) home football (soccer) matches...

    I went with the Rugby.

As for International Soccer, saying that its the best spectator sport is like machocism. Sitting around for the best part of 100 minutes wondering which feck-up will cost you the match. I watch them all anyway, but its more of a duty than a spectator sport.

Hurling is the best spectator sport in Ireland, in my opinion, with International football 2nd, Gaelic Football 3rd,Rugby 4th and LOI football 5th.
